Our Koru Families

Look at our Koru pictures, they are of our families. We had to do lots of things to create our pictures, here are the steps we followed...

1. We had to research what a koru looked like, we used google to help us, we also looked at some other finished Koru Pictures from some children at another school.

2. We practised drawing a koru in the air with our fingers then we practised drawing them on paper with our pencils.

3.We chose the colour of our paint, we got to choose from Purple, Blue and Silver.

4.We painted our circles and waited until they were dry.

5. We used our pencils to draw the koru shapes. Each Koru shape is for each person in our family. Miss Swan then went around out pencil drawing with Vivid.

6. We then had to paint the korus with black paint and we had to wait until it dried. We had to make sure that we used lots of black paint so that we didnt see the circle colour through it.

7. We got to choose from red, blue, silver, golden glitter. We used a thin paintbrush to put the glue on our korus. We did lines and dots and swirls with the glue.  We poured the glitter on and then picked up our paper and shook the glitter back into the container.

8. After we had done all those steps, we wrote stories about our families in our Koru Pictures.

These are some of our Spectacular Koru Pictures.
