Breaking Caterpillar News!!!

Guess what we have just found!!!..... Caterpillar Eggs on our Swan Plants!

Maia, Briar and Hayley were outside and noticed a few eggs on our plants.
We all went out to have a look and sure enough we have 14 eggs on our 7 Swan Plants.  We decided to move all our plants inside so that we can keep an eye on the caterpillars growing...hopefully there will be enough food for the caterpillars to eat!

As soon as we found these, we decided to write about our special eggs.

Have a look at the pictures we took of us looking at the plants, some close up pictures of some of the eggs and us starting our writing.

Already we have learnt that Caterpillar eggs are called Larva.

We are sooooooo excited for the Caterpillars to come out of the eggs.

  2. WOW! What amazing eyesight you have to see the tiny eggs. It is amazing how quickly the caterpillars grow.
My class loved our caterpillars too. They have turned into a chrysalis now and so we are waiting for the butterfly to emerge.
I can't wait to look back at your blog to see how they have grown.
